Angkatan Bersenjata Kontinental adalah tentara Koloni Bersatu yang mewakili Tiga Belas Koloni dan kemudian Amerika Serikat selama Perang Revolusi Amerika. Kongres ini dibentuk pada tanggal 14 Juni 1775, berdasarkan resolusi yang disahkan oleh Kongres Kontinental Kedua, yang diadakan di Philadelphia setelah pecahnya perang. Tentara Kontinental dibentuk untuk mengoordinasikan upaya militer koloni dalam perang melawan Inggris, yang berusaha mempertahankan kendali atas koloni-koloni Amerika. Jenderal George Washington diangkat menjadi panglima Angkatan Darat Kontinental dan mempertahankan posisi ini sepanjang perang.
Angkatan Darat Kontinental dilengkapi dengan milisi lokal dan pasukan sukarelawan yang setia kepada masing-masing negara bagian atau independen. Sebagian besar Angkatan Darat Kontinental dibubarkan pada tahun 1783 setelah Perjanjian Paris secara resmi mengakhiri perang. Resimen ke-1 dan ke-2 Angkatan Darat Kontinental kemudian membentuk apa yang kemudian menjadi Legiun Amerika Serikat pada tahun 1792, yang pada akhirnya menjadi landasan pembentukan Angkatan Darat Amerika Serikat.
