Kehidupan pribadi


Ia menikahi Anne Kopelson. Mereka memiliki seorang putri, Stephanie Lisa Kopelson, dan dua putra, Peter Laurence Kopelson, Evan Jared Kopelson. Keluarga Kopelson tinggal di Beverly Hills, California.
Kopelson meninggal dunia di rumahnya di Beverly Hills pada tanggal 8 Oktober 2018 dalam usia 83 tahun.
