David Edmund Burton-Sampson is a British Labour Party politician who has been the Member of Parliament for Southend West and Leigh since 2024.
Political career
Burton-Sampson was deputy leader of the Labour Group on Basildon council.
He unseated the Conservative MP Anna Firth, who had won the seat in a by-election after the murder of longtime MP Sir David Amess in October 2021.
Personal life
He is gay and is married to his husband Mark.
