Donald Richie (17 April 1924 – 19 Februari 2013) adalah seorang pengarang kelahiran Amerika yang menulis tentang orang Jepang, budaya Jepang, dan secara khusus sinema Jepang. Meskipun ia menganggap dirinya sendiri mengutamakan diri sebagai seorang sejarawan film, Richie juga menyutradarai beberapa film eksperimental, film yang pertama dibuat ketika ia berusia 17 tahun.




Biografi


Richie lahir di Lima, Ohio.
Meskipun Richie dapat berbicara menggunakan bahasa Jepang, ia tidak dapat membaca dan menulis menggunakan bahasa tersebut secara sempurna.
Richie meninggal, pada usia 88 tahun, pada 19 Februari 2013, di Tokyo.
