Horatio Lloyd Gates (26 Juli 1727 – 10 April 1806) adalah seorang perwira tentara Amerika Serikat kelahiran Inggris yang bertugas sebagai jenderal dalam Tentara Kontinental pada tahun-tahun awal Perang Revolusi Amerika. Ia dikenal karena memenangkan Pertempuran Saratoga (1777) – sebuah bahan kontroversi sejarah dan kontemporer – dan disalahkan atas kekalahan dalam Pertempuran Camden pada 1780. Gates disebut sebagai "salah satu tokoh militer paling kontroversial pada zaman Revolusi" karena perannya dalam Conway Cabal, yang berniat menyudutkan dan menggantikan Jenderal George Washington; pertempuran di Saratoga; dan aksinya saat dan setelah kekalahannya di Camden.
