Ibiza (Spanish: [iˈβiθa]; Catalan: Eivissa [əjˈvisə], commonly also Vila d'Eivissa [ˈvilə ðəjˈvisə] or simply Vila [ˈvilə]) is a city and municipality located on the southeast coast of the island of Ibiza in the Balearic Islands autonomous community.
Overview
The name of Ibiza in Catalan is Eivissa and it is sometimes called Vila d'Eivissa or simply Vila ("Town"). It is divided into two main parts: the old town, called the Dalt Vila (literally "Upper Town"), located on a little mountain by the sea, and the modern part, called the Eixample ("Extension").
The city, which has a population of 50,643 (2021), is the capital and most populous settlement of the island and of the Pityusic Islands group, which includes Ibiza and Formentera.

=Ibiza is widely known and visited for its exciting nightlife. Some of the island's most notable nightclubs include Pacha, Amnesia, Space, and Ushuaïa. These four nightclubs are regularly in the top three of DJ Magazine's annual top 100 global clubs' chart.
= Sightseeing
=Sights include the cathedral of Santa Maria d'Eivissa (14th century), located at the top of the Dalt Vila, and the Punic necropolis of Puig des Molins. Nearby is also the monument of Christ, the Sacred Heart of Jesus, a 23-metre-high (75 ft) statue inspired by Christ the Redeemer, which is 3.1 miles (5.0 km) north of the city.
Climate
Ibiza has a hot semi-arid climate (Köppen: BSh), bordering on a hot-summer Mediterranean climate (Csa). The average annual temperature of Ibiza is 18.3 °C (65 °F), being mild and stable throughout the whole year. The climate of Ibiza is typically warm, sunny and dry, with low variation between highs and lows. The sunshine hours of Ibiza are 2700-2800 per year, while the yearly rain amount goes from 400 to 450 millimetres (16 to 18 in). The average high temperature is 22.2 °C (72 °F), while the average low is 14.3 °C (58 °F). Winters are slightly rainy and mild, from November to April normally the whole island turns green for the seasonal rains. Summers are hot and fairly humid, but with very little rainfall. The few rainy days are often accompanied by thunderstorms. During the coldest month, January, the average high temperature is 15.7 °C (60 °F), while the average low is 8.1 °C (47 °F). In the warmest month, August, the average high temperature is 30.3 °C (87 °F), while the low is 22.2 °C (72 °F). Freezes and extreme temperatures are rare due to the influence of the sea. Ibiza has never been above 39 °C (102 °F) or under −3 °C (27 °F) since temperature records began in 1952. The average temperature of the sea around Ibiza is 19.7 °C (67 °F).
