Irfan is an Indian actor who has appeared in Tamil films and television serials. He began his career with a Television serial Kana Kaanum Kaalangal, which gave him popularity among Tamil audience.




Personal life


Irfan was born in Madurai on 29 November 1985. He studied at Visual Communication at Loyola College, Chennai.




Career


Irfan Mohamed is a Tamil serial actor and model. He is widely known for his breakthrough role in Kanaa Kaanum Kaalangal where he played Vineeth. Subsequently, he got an opportunity to participate in the dance reality show Jodi Number One in STAR Vijay TV. He was paired up with Monisha, and he went on to capture the third place. He was selected for director Vasanthabalan's film Angadi Theru and prepared for the role by sitting out in the sun for over eight hours in order to get tanned. However, the opportunity was missed as the production preferred to go with their original choice. Irfan was the first choice for the role of Ram Babu in Venkat Prabhu's Saroja. He was also the first choice to play Ajith Kumar's brother in Raju Sundaram's Aegan. Both roles did not channelize for him. His other co-stars from Kanaa Kaanum Kaalangal came together with him to make a movie Pattalam, before getting an opportunity to play a supporting role in the 2012 movie Eppadi Manasukkul Vanthai.
He was then called upon to play the lead role in the movie Sundaattam that revolved around the gambling form of carom, that was based in North Chennai. Post all these endeavors he was offered the role of Shakti Saravanan in the blockbuster Vijay TV serial Saravanan Meenatchi. He, however, left the serial in mid 2014, stating he lost interest.
Irfan decided to pursue writing and direction. He signed to direct a film starring Nithin Sathya, however the project did not take off. He directed and written short films such as Rani & Neengal Thodarbu Kollum Vadikaiyalar which won awards at international film festivals.
He played a villain role for the first time in Rajavukku Check co-starring Cheran. He received excellent reception and audiences and critics highly praised his performance of a menacing villain.
Irfan took a break from media and spent time for travelling and focusing on his online business.
He made a comeback through the fourth reboot edition of Kana Kaanum Kaalangal as Jerry. He is currently focusing on travel, working on short films and made a re-entry on a reality show through Mahanadigai on Zee Tamil as a mentor.
