SMS Friedrich der Grosse merupakan kapal kedua dari kelas Kaiser yang dibangun untuk Kaiserliche Marine. Friedrich der Grosse mulai dibangun pada 26 Januari 1910 di AG Vulcan Shipyard, Hidenburg.
Friedrich der Grosse pernah ikut dalam banyak pertempuran dan operasi besar seperti Pertempuran Jutlandia, Operasi Laut Utara, dan Operasi Albion.
