    2" target="_blank">2 x 2" target="_blank">2 adalah album musik karya Gigi yang dirilis pada tahun 1997. Dengan lagu utama dari album ini adalah "Kurindukan", dan "Bumi Meringis".
    Gigi dibentuk pada tanggal 22 Maret 1994, dengan personel awalnya Armand Maulana (vokal), Dewa Budjana (gitar), Thomas Ramdhan (bass), Ferdinal Ronald Fristianto (drum) dan Aria Baron Arafat (gitar). Album pertama yang mereka keluarkan adalah Angan yang rilis pada tahun 1994 dengan hits single Angan dan Kuingin. Sempat mengalami pergantian personel dengan bermacam alasan. Namun, eksistensi mereka tidak bisa diragukan lagi, band Gigi masih bertahan hingga sekarang di tengah gempuran band pendatang baru. Album 2x2 adalah album keempat Gigi yang dirilis pada tahun 1997. Personel Gigi di album ini adalah Armand Maulana (vokal), Dewa Budjana (gitar), Budhy Haryono (drum) dan Opet Alatas (bass). Penggarapan album ini melibatkan banyak musisi di luar Gigi seperti Indra Lesmana dan Gilang Ramadhan, bahkan musisi luar negeri Billy Sheehan (pemain bass Mr. Big) juga terlibat di album ini. Penggarapan albumnya sendiri selain di dalam negeri juga dilakukan di Amerika. Namun, dengan sederet catatan tersebut tidak serta merta membuat album ini sukses secara komersial. Namun, sebagai 'Albumnya Gigi', album ini patut diperhitungkan. Bahkan banyak yang bilang ini album ini kemudian menjadi 'langka' karena susah dicari lagi. Seperti ketiga album sebelumnya (album Angan, Dunia dan album 3/4), Album ini juga dirilis pada tahun 2004 oleh Sony Music Entertainment Indonesia sebagai album edisi terbatas dan hanya dikhususkan untuk fans resmi Gigi.
    Tahun 1997 adalah tahun serba baru bagi GIGI. Selain dua pemain baru dan konsep musik baru, perusahaan rekamannya pun baru. Sebenarnya kondisi lain yang diharapkan harusnya baru juga, ternyata tidak begitu, Album yang diberi nama "2" target="_blank">2 X 2" target="_blank">2" yang dapat dikatakan album tereksklusif GIGI tersebut yang proses pengambilan suaranya di lakukan di Indonesia dan Amerika, proses penyempurnaan keseluruhan (Mixing dan Mastering) di lakukan sepenuhnya di Amerika kurang dipromosikan secara maksimal, akibatnya album yang bekerjasama dengan Musisi Dunia seperti Billy Sheehan (Bassist Mr. Big), Harry Kim (personil dari Phenix Horns, juga mengisi horn section di Earth, Wind and Fire) dan Arturo Velasco (mengisi brass sections dengan Phil Collins), Eric Marienthal ini, hasil yang diharapkan tidak seperti yang ditargetkan. Untung ada Program tour 100 Kota dari Management GIGI yang paling tidak membantu meningkatkan penjualan kaset.
