C.Y. Lee. Writer: Flower Drum Song. Chin Y. Lee graduated from National Southwest Associated University, Kunming, China, in 1940 with Bachelor of Arts degree. He entered the United States in 1943, attended Yale University, and by 1947 Lee earned a Master of Fine Arts degree.
