    Divisi A, juga dikenal sebagai Divisi IRT, adalah divisi New York City Subway yang terdiri dari beberapa jalur dengan layanan bernomor (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7) dan 42nd Street Shuttle. Jalur dan layanan ini dioperasikan oleh Interborough Rapid Transit Company sebelum diambil alih pemerintah kota pada tahun 1940. Kereta Divisi A lebih sempit, pendek, dan ringan daripada kereta Divisi B; kereta Divisi A berukuran 86 x 51 ft (26,2 x 15,5 m).

    Sejarah


    Nomor diberikan untuk layanan kereta bawah tanah pada tahun 1948:

    42nd Street Shuttle dan Bowling Green – South Ferry Shuttle also provided subway services, and elevated service remained on the Jalur Third Avenue and Polo Grounds Shuttle.
