Jul 6, 2011 · I wouldn't be that concerned about exhaust with the road being 20+ feet away, but that's me (and this isn't professional advice). However, you could always put a giant hedge close to the road to stop much of the pollution from getting into your yard, if it turns out to be a problem. Edit: Michael's answer reminded me of the mosquito trucks.

Sep 2, 2011 · The food waste is not degraded and bacteria/bugs in soil will try to degraded some while releasing bad smell. Also it doesn't look good and require a long time to degrade too. I should warn you, there will be plenty of bugs if you just dump the food to the soil.

I set up a 7 cu ft rolling composter in my garden about 3 weeks ago and filled it about halfway with 1/3 food scraps and 2/3 cardboard/leaves/finished compost. My kids added more food scraps, so it's probably 50-50 now. I've kept it wet and turned it, but upon opening it yesterday, it had a sour stench and a lot of bugs squirming in it.

Aug 13, 2017 · The best thing you can do is water your tree. It will not have to go searching for water. You should also dig a trench about 2 feet deep and cover your foundation on the side with your tree with galvanized metal, making sure you have air between the foundation and the metal.
