    Gym Class Heroes adalah band rap rock asal Jenewa, New York Amerika Serikat. Grup ini dibentuk pada tahun 1997 ketika Travie McCoy bertemu drummer Matt McGinley saat kelas olahraga SMA mereka. Musik band ini menampilkan beragam pengaruh, termasuk hip hop, rock, funk dan reggae. Setelah penambahan gitaris Disashi Lumumba-Kasongo dan bassis Eric Roberts pada tahun 2003, grup ini menandatangani kontrak dengan Fueled by Ramen dan Decaydance Records (label rekaman independen bassis Fall Out Boy Pete Wentz), di mana mereka merilis album debut mereka, The Papercut Chronicles. Grup ini memperoleh basis penggemar yang kuat saat mempromosikan album, tampil di festival seperti The Bamboozle dan Vans Warped Tour.
    Pada tahun 2006, grup ini merilis album As Cruel as School Children.     Rapper Travie McCoy dan pemain dram Matt McGinley menjadi teman di SMA lokal kelas sembilan di Geneva, New York. Mereka resmi bersatu pada tahun 1997. Band ini terbentuk ketika bassis Ryan Geise dan drummer Matt McGinley tampil di sebuah pesta band instrumental tanpa vokal. McCoy, yang hadir di pesta itu, mengambil mikrofon di atas panggung dan mulai nge-rap. Beberapa minggu kemudian, grup ini menjadi bersama dan membuat musik.
