    Louvre Abu Dhabi adalah sebuah museum seni dan peradaban, terletak di Abu Dhabi, UEA. Museum ini diresmikan pada 8 November 2017. Museum ini merupakan bagian dari sebuah perjanjian tiga puluh tahun antara kota Abu Dhabi dan pemerintah Prancis. Museum ini terletak di Distrik Budaya Pulau Saadiyat. Luasnya sekitar 24.000 meter persegi (260.000 sq ft), dengan 8.000 meter persegi (86.000 sq ft) galeri, menjadikannya museum seni terbesar di Jazirah Arab. Biaya akhir pembangunan museum ini diperkirakan sekitar €600 juta. Sebagai tambahan, USD.525 juta telah dibayar oleh Abu Dhabi untuk dihubungkan dengan nama Louvre, dan tambahan $747 juta akan dibayarkan sebagai imbalan pinjaman seni, pameran khusus, dan konseling manajemen.
    Karya seni dari seluruh dunia ditampilkan di museum, dengan fokus khusus terletak pada menjembatani kesenjangan antara Seni Timur dan Barat.


    Sejarah


    Pendirian museum ini disetujui oleh Parlemen Prancis pada 9 Oktober 2007. Arsitek untuk pembangunan tersebut adalah Jean Nouvel dan Buro Happold sebagai insinyurnya. Jean Nouvel juga merancang Institut Dunia Arab di Paris.
    Museum tersebut akan menjadi bagian dari pengembangan turis dan budaya senilai USD.27 miliar untuk Pulau Saadiyat, sebuah kompleks yang direncanakan untuk mencakup tiga museum lainnya, termasuk Museum Guggenheim dan Museum Nasional Zayed. Menurut situs web yang disponsori pemerintah, UAE Interact: "Badan Museum Prancis akan bekerja sama dengan Perusahaan Pengembangan Pariwisata dan Investasi (TDIC), yang berada di balik transformasi Pulau Saadiyat. Museum ini akan dipimpin oleh pemodal Prancis dan anggota Académie des Beaux-Arts negara tersebut, Marc Ladreit de Lacharrière, penerbit majalah Revue des Deux Mondes." Bruno Maquart, mantan Direktur Eksekutif Centre Georges Pompidou, akan menjabat sebagai Direktur Eksekutif.

    Distrik Budaya Pulau Saadiyat berencana untuk menampung klaster tunggal aset budaya berkelas dunia yang terbesar. Selain Louvre Abu Dhabi, ini dimaksudkan untuk mencakup: Museum Nasional Zayed, yang dirancang oleh perusahaan arsitektur berpusat di Britania Raya, Foster and Partners di bawah arahan Lord Norman Foster; museum seni kontemporer Guggenheim Abu Dhabi – Guggenheim terbesar di dunia dan satu-satunya museum seni kontemporer yang terletak di Timur Tengah; sebuah pusat pertunjukan seni yang dirancang oleh Zaha Hadid; seuah museum maritim dengan rancangan konsep oleh Tadao Ando, dan sejumlah paviliun seni.
