Op art atau juga dikenal dengan nama optical art adalah gaya seni visual yang menggunakan ilusi optikal.
"seni optikal adalah metode melukis yang memperhatikan interaksi antara ilusi dan menggabungkan pengertian serta penglihatan." Seni Op art bersifat abstrak, kebanyakan berbentuk potongan yang hanya dibuat dengan warna hitam putih. Ketika orang melihat karya ilusi optikal maka akan memberikan sebuah impresi pergerakan, benda yang tersembunyi, getaran, atau pola tertentu.
Op art berasal dari gaya konstruktivisme di Bauhaus. Sekolah Jerman yang didirikan oleh Walter Gropius menarik hubungan antara bentuk dan fungsi dengan analisis gerakan dan rasionalitas. Para murid diajarkan untuk fokus pada desain keseluruhan, atau komposisi keseluruhan untuk mendapatkan gabungan bentuk tertentu.
