The Return adalah sebuah film drama sejarah Amerika Serikat tahun 2024 yang disutradarai oleh Uberto Pasolini dan menampilkan Ralph Fiennes dan Juliette Binoche. Film tersebut diadaptasi dari kisah Homer's Odyssey karya Edward Bond, John Collee dan Pasolini. Film tersebut menandai penampilan pertama Ralph Fiennes dan Juliette Binoche dalam proyek yang sama sejak pemenang Oscar tahun 1996 The English Patient.
Pada bulan Februari 2023, Charlie Plummer dan Marwan Kenzari ditambahkan ke pemerannya. Film ‘tersebut tayang perdana di bagian Gala di Festival Film Internasional Toronto 2024 pada bulan September 2024 dan dirilis di bioskop pada tanggal 6 Desember 2024, di Amerika Serikat oleh Bleecker Street.
Sinopsis
Film tersebut mengisahkan tentang Odysseus (Fiennes) yang terdampar di tepi pulau asalnya Ithaca setelah dua puluh tahun berperang dan kembali dari Perang Troya. Terluka oleh pengalamannya, dia tidak dapat dikenali lagi dari raja prajurit perkasa yang pergi, 20 tahun sebelumnya.
Istrinya Penelope (Binoche) kini menjadi tahanan di rumahnya sendiri, diburu oleh banyak pelamar untuk memilih suami baru yang akan naik takhta. Putra Odysseus dan Penelope, Telemachus (Plummer) menghadapi kematian di tangan orang-orang yang melihatnya sebagai ancaman terhadap ambisi mereka. Odysseus terpaksa menghadapi masa lalunya untuk menyelamatkan keluarganya dan memenangkan kembali apa yang telah hilang darinya
