    The World merupakan sebuah kumpulan 300 pulau buatan manusia berbentuk peta dunia yang sedang dibangun di lepas pantai Dubai, Uni Emirat Arab.
    The World meruakan satu dari berbagai proyek pulau buatan di Dubai, bersama dengan Palm Islands, dan seperti pulau lainnya, The World dibangun menggunakan pasir yang dikeruk dari dasar laut. The World merupakan visi dari Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, pemimpin Dubai.
    Setiap pulau berukuran mulai 23,000 m² hingga 84,000 m² (250,000–900,000 kaki persegi atau 5.7–21 acre), dengan air berjarak 50–100 m antara setiap pulau. Pembangunan ini akan meliputi area seluas 9 km panjangnya dan 6 km lebarnya, dikelilingi oleh pemecah gelombang oval.
    Angkutan antarpulau satu-satunya adalah dengan kapal dan helikopter. Harga untuk setiap pulau mulai dari $15–45 juta (USD). Harga rata-rata untuk sebuah pulau adalah sekitar $25 juta (USD). Pengerukan dimulai pada tahun 2004 dan pada Maret 2007, The World selesai sekitar 90%.

    Pembangunan rahasia

    Pembangunan yang diketahui


    Satu dari beberapa pembangunan yang dikonfirmasikan adalah pembelian 14 pulau yang membentuk Australia dan Selandia Baru oleh Investment Dar. Kepulauan ini sedang disesuaikan dengan spesifikasi investor untuk membuat 19 pulau, yang akan menjadi resor bernama OQYANA.
