Sinopsis
Film ini bercerita tentang kehidupan yang dijalani oleh pesulap atau magician. Awalnya Angier dan Borden adalah sesama pesulap yang bekerja dipertunjukan Cutter. Cutter juga senang punya anak didik seperti mereka berdua. Angier dan Borden juga disuruh untuk belajar sulap ke negri lain yang jauh. Hingga suatu saat istri Angier meninggal karena kesalahan dari Borden mengikat sebuah simpul. Hal ini membuat Angier sangat dendam dan selalu mengintimidasi Borden agar dia mengaku simpul ikatan apa yang dia ikat. Tidak sampai di situ saja, disaat Borden mempertunjukkan sulap menangkap peluru dari tembakan pistol dengan tangan, Angier datang dengan menjadi algojonya. Dan memasukkan peluru dan menembagi Borden. Alhasil jari dari Borden harus di amputasi. Tidak tinggal dia disaat Angier beraksi menunjukkan aksi sulapnya Borden datang untuk mengacau akibatnya jari pengunjung putus. Jelas di antara Angier dan Borden tidak ada lagi persaingan yang sehat, mereka berdua seperti sudah ingin membunuh satu sama lain saja. Suatu ketika Borden menemukan trik sulap yaitu berpindah dari satu ruangan ke ruangan lain dengan cepat. Angier yang menyaksikan adengan itu langsung tidak terima pesaingnya bisa mempunyai trik baru. Angier tidak tinggal diam, dia langsung cari cara agar dapat mengkopi triknya dan membuat lebih menarik. Akhirnya Angier mampu membuat trik yang lebih keren dengan bermodal 2 pintu Angier langsung dapat membuat trik yang serupa dan pertunjukannya adalah The Transporter. Tidak tinggal diam Borden berusaha keras untuk mempermalukan Angier. Akankah pertikaian antar Angier dan Borden dapat berhenti? siapakah yang akan menang dan yang kalah dalam pertarungan dua pesulap yang disaat itu terkenal di London? Film ini di sajikan dengan alur maju mundur jadi butuh konsentrasi tinggi untuk dapat memahami jalan ceritanya. Dan juga banyak di sajikan aksi sulap yang ekstrem dan juga unik.Pranala luar
