Sinopsis
Para parapsikologis Peter Venkman (Bill Murray), Raymond Stantz (Dan Aykroyd), dan Egon Spengler (Harold Ramis) diberhentikan dari tempat kerjanya di Universitas Columbia, beberapa saat setelah mereka melihat hantu secara langsung. Untuk menyokong penelitian paranormal mereka tanpa dukungan Universitas, trio ini kemudian mendirikan jasa pengusir hantu. Menyebut diri mereka "Ghostbusters," mereka mendirikan markas di bekas gedung pemadam kebakaran. Setelah dikalahkan Ghostbusters, Gozer menghilang, tetapi kemudian datang kembali dalam bentuk Stay Puft Marshmallow Man raksasa dan mulai menyerang kota.
