The 1966 U.S. Figure Skating Championships was held in Berkeley, California, from January 26 to 29, 1966. Medals were awarded in three colors: gold (first), silver (second), and bronze (third) in four disciplines – men's singles, ladies' singles, pair skating, and ice dancing – across three levels: senior, junior, and novice.
The event determined the U.S. team for the 1966 World Championships.
Senior results

=1964 nation champion Scott Allen defeated defending title-holder Gary Visconti for the crown. Tim Wood had three falls in his program and fell to fourth behind Billy Chapel, who received an ovation for his skate.
= Ladies
=Peggy Fleming was judged unanimously in first place to capture her third straight national crown. Albertina Noyes was the unanimous second place skater by the judges.
= Pairs
=Following the retirement of 1965 champs Vivian and Ronald Joseph, Cynthia Kauffman and Ronald Kauffman moved up to grab the crown.
