Syed Afzal Ahmad (Urdu: افضال احمد died 2 December 2022) was a renowned Pakistani actor. He came into limelight with his roles in the following movies: International Gorillay, Aakhri Muqabala and London. Commonly known as "Afzal Chitta", he owned the famous Tamaseel Theater on Ferozepur Road in Lahore. Tamaseel Theater had a large impact on the film industry in Lahore, being the first theater with a revolving stage. After suffering a stroke in 2001, Afzal permanently resided at his Lahore farmhouse, living there with his sister, brother-in law, and mother, until his death in 2022.
Life and career
Afzal was born in Jhang, Punjab, Pakistan. He was a graduate of Aitchison College. Afzal Ahmad had over four decades of acting career, starting in the 1970s while featuring in Dhiyan Namanian. Over the years he featured in over 200 Urdu, Punjabi and Pashto movies.
On 2 December 2022, Ahmad died at Lahore General Hospital after suffering from a brain hemorrhage.
