American Fence Company is an American fence manufacturer based in Arizona.
History
American Fence Company was founded in 1948 in Arizona by J.P Van Denburgh and his wife Betty Van Denburgh. The company later divided into two divisions: The American Fence Co., managed by John Van Denburgh III, which focused on the retail and rental sectors, and American Tube & Pipe Co., the manufacturing division overseen by David Van Denburgh. By 1997, The American Fence Co. had expanded to 32 branches west of the Mississippi River.
In 1997, American Fence sold 75 percent of its ownership and allocated approximately $6 million toward technology upgrades, including the implementation of systems from J.D. Edwards based in Denver. During the same year, the company initiated efforts to incorporate technology into its retail and rental operations. A two-year project was undertaken to standardize business operations and integrate modern technology across eight sites, enabling automated fence measurements and construction planning.
In 2016, American Fence Company was awarded the Patriotic Employer Award by the Department of Defense.
