Latar Belakang
Bechtolsheim lahir di Jerman tahun 1955. Ia menerima gelar master dalam jurusan teknik elektrik dari Universitas Carnegie Mellon tahun 1976 dan murid PhD dalam EE/CS di Universitas Stanford sejak 1977 hingga 1982.
