Asalem Jarigindi (transl. What really happened?) is a 2022 Indian Telugu-language suspense thriller film directed by NVR and starring Sriram and Sanchita Padukone.
The film was released on 22 October 2021.
Plot
A man marries a young woman in a small village, only to discover the village is cursed with an evil spirit

Production
The film is based on real incidents that happened in Telangana during the 1970s and 1980s. The film began production in February of 2019 and was shot in Hyderabad and Telangana villages using a MONSTRO 8K VV camera. The film was sixty percent complete in March of 2019. Shooting finished in April of 2019. The makers were contemplating an OTT release in 2020. Sunil launched the teaser in January of 2021.
Soundtrack
The songs were composed by Yelandhar Mahaveer. The music was released under the Aditya Music label. The songs were well received.
Reception
A critic from Manalokam rated the film 31⁄2 out of 5 and wrote that "Overall the movie is very good. Hero and heroine gave life to their respective characters. Making, sounds effects, graphics are liked by all. Anyone who has seen this film will say that there is no compromise in the production. The audience who likes horror and thriller movies will like this movie very much". A critic from India Daily Live wrote that "Raghava (NVR) directed this movie brilliantly. All through every scene goes on in a way that impresses the audience. Overall, this is a must watch movie for those who love horror and thriller movies".
