Aubrey High School is a public high school located in the city of Aubrey, Texas, USA and classified as a 4A school by the UIL. It is a part of the Aubrey Independent School District located in east central Denton County and serves students in Aubrey and Krugerville. In 2015, the school was rated "Met Standard" by the Texas Education Agency.
The school, much like others in Denton County, has experienced rapid growth. In 2021 the school graduated its second largest class in the institution's history. This led to the school moving from UIL Conference 2A to 3A in 2010, and moving again to 4A in 2014 after the UIL created Conference 6A.
Athletics
Aubrey's athletics compete in UIL Conference 4A. The Aubrey Chaparrals compete in Marching Band, Volleyball, Cross Country, Football, Basketball, Powerlifting, Golf, Baseball, Track & Field and Softball, and recently added a soccer team, which does not yet compete in the UIL. In each of its UIL events except football and soccer, Aubrey competes in District 4A-11, competing against Anna, Celina, Panther Creek, Ranchview, and Van Alstyne High Schools. The Aubrey Chaparral Football team competes in 4A Division II, in District 5. Its district foes are Bridgeport, Farmersville, Gainesville, Krum, Sanger, and Van Alstyne. Both the boys' and girls' soccer teams also play in District 4A-11, but with a somewhat different composition. Carrollton Ranchview and Van Alstyne are not in Aubrey's soccer district, but Farmersville (normally in District 14), Gainesville (normally in District 7), Bonham and Pilot Point (both of which compete in Conference 3A in most events) are.
As a result of the 2024-2026 UIL Alignment, Aubrey will face Celina, Frisco Panther Creek, Gainesville, Lake Dallas, Sanger, and Van Alstyne in District 9-4A in basketball and volleyball at the least. Aubrey has faced Gainesville and Sanger fairly often in prior districts, but this is their first time facing Lake Dallas in that same setting. In football, they will move to Conference 4A Division I for the first time, facing off against Celina, Frisco Panther Creek, Lake Dallas, Nevada Community, Paris, and Sulphur Springs. Of those schools, they have only ever faced Celina in prior district alignments, although they have played non-district contests against Panther Creek since their opening in 2022-2023, splitting the contests 1-1.
In recent years, Aubrey has found success in its track and field program in addition to its team sports, placing second in Class 4A at the 2023 state meet, and winning back-to-back regional championships as well.

= Rivals
=Historically, Pilot Point has been Aubrey's primary rival in most athletic contests. The schools, which are nine miles apart, shared a UIL district from 1976 (Aubrey's second alignment in which they competed in UIL contests) until 2002, and again from 2008 until 2012. Additionally, they have played various non-district contests as well, and share a soccer district. However, this rivalry has largely died, as a result of Aubrey growing to be more than twice the size of Pilot Point and most matches between the two becoming non-competitive.
Celina is another school which is a traditional rival of Aubrey's, although the rivalry has been lopsided in Celina's favor. The two schools, 18 miles apart, have played each other 38 times in football, with Celina owning the lead in the rivalry 36-2. Aubrey's most recent win, during the 2020 season, yielded a district championship for the Chaparrals, the first in the school's history. The next season, Aubrey finished 11-2, with their only losses coming against Celina, including a 34-0 shutout in the regional finals. This meeting, the most recent between the two, was the first and thus far only time Aubrey has made it to the fourth round of playoffs in football. The rivalry is more competitive in other sports. The last three Region II volleyball finals in Conference 4A have been between the two teams, and the two have been state contenders in recent seasons in softball and boys' track and field.
Another rivalry, although much less established than the Pilot Point or Celina rivalries, is Aubrey's rivalry with Anna. Although the schools have played many times across a variety of sports over a long period of time, the recent iteration of the rivalry largely dates back to a 2022 pre-district football game between Anna and Aubrey. Although Aubrey trailed 27-14 at halftime, they managed to lead the game by one point in the final minute of game play. Following a turnover on downs, Anna received the ball near their own twenty yard line with fourteen seconds remaining in the game. After a first-down pass attempt fell incomplete (leaving six seconds on the clock), Anna managed a score on an eighty yard hook-and-ladder touchdown, winning the contest 39-34. That season, Aubrey would lose to Texarkana Pleasant Grove in the regional semifinals and Anna lost to China Spring (eventual state champions) in the regional finals in Division I. Anna would win the state championship the next year. Later that same year, Aubrey had managed an 11-0 district record and was ranked in the TABC poll heading into the final district contest of the season, against Anna, who was 10-1 in district. Aubrey fell to Anna, resulting in an 11-1 tie in the final district standings, which Anna won. Anna made it to the regional quarterfinals that season, falling to eventual state champion Oak Cliff Faith Family Academy, while Aubrey lost to No. 2-ranked Dallas Carter in the regional semifinals. The rivalry appears to be coming to an end across all sports, however, as Anna moves into 5A beginning in 2024-2025.
In recent years, Aubrey's district alignments have included some combination of Gainesville, Krum, Sanger, and Van Alstyne. Additionally, they previously shared districts with Argyle, Melissa, and Prosper for extended periods of time, but rapid growth in DFW brought those rivalries to an end.
