Australia has sent participants to every Quiz Olympiad since the inaugural event in 2016. Representative teams are selected by the nation's peak quiz association Quizzing Australia and are known as the Quokkas.
Event history
Quiz Olympiads are held every four years and organised by the International Quizzing Association which also runs the annual World Quizzing Championship among other events.
= 2016
=The inaugural Quiz Olympiad was held from 3-6 November 2016 in Athens, the host city for the inaugural Modern Olympics in 1896. It attracted 201 participants from 26 nations with Australia sending a team of eight.

=The II Quiz Olympiad was originally scheduled to take place in Krakow in November 2020 but was postponed to 5-8 November 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. It attracted 182 participants from 24 nations.
