Ballymore (from Irish An Baile Mór, meaning 'the large town, settlement') is a civil parish and townland (of 676 acres) in County Armagh, Northern Ireland. It is situated in the historic barony of Orior Lower.

Parish Church



Ballymore Parish Church dates to 1343 and is located beside Tandragee Castle on Church Street, Tandragee.
The church has history which extends over 650 years, closely linked to the Dukes of Manchester until the mid-1950s. Historical records from the 14th century reference the church, which was eventually destroyed by Edmond O'Hanlon during the Irish Rebellion of 1641. It was rebuilt in 1812 due to its inability to accommodate the growing congregation. During the renovation, remnants of the original walls were discovered, revealing evidence of fire damage from the events of the Irish Rebellion of 1641.
