Barak Rosen (Hebrew: ברק רוזן), is an Israeli real estate developer, entrepreneur and businessman. He is the founder, owner and CEO of one of Israel's largest real estate development company - Israel-Canada (T.R), a public traded company with a market cap of NIS 4.27 Billion (as of 10/9/2024), known for its buildings in central Israel.
Biography
Rosen was born in Ra'anana in 1971. After graduating from Ostrovsky high school, where he met his future partner - Asaf Touchmair, he served in the IDF.
After completing his service, Rosen and Touchmair began in 1995 working as a real estate brokers. shortly after they opened their own firm - "Penthouse Real-Estate", and within a year the firm hired 10 brokers.
In 1996 Rosen and Touchmair founded a company that specialized in purchasing agricultural land before it received residential and commercial zoning permits, by dividing and selling it to private buyers.
As a result of the local economic crisis in 1998, Rosen and Touchmair decided to move to Toronto, Canada where they began buying and renovating residential real estate complex under their new company - Canada-Israel.
In 2006 Rosen and Touchmair bought a public shell in Tel-Aviv Stock Exchange - Pangaya Real Estate. A year later Rosen managed to raise Howard Brevan Hedge fund to buy 4.9% of Pangaya for NIS 7.3 Million. Pangaya later changed its name to Israel-Canada (T.R) and held Rosen and Touchmair real estate operation in Israel.
In 2006 Rosen led the building of Israel's tallest residential building at the time - W Tower (511 ft.), completed in 2010 at Tzamarot Ayalon. In the coming years he completed the construction of 3 more Skyscrapers in the neighborhood: W Boutique Tower, W Prime and Rom Tower.
In November 2017 Rosen completed the allocation of NIS 100 Million to Israel-Canada from Israeli institutional investors, at a company value of NIS 755 Million, after an increase of 400% in the company's share price, since 2014.
In February 2018 Israel-Canada (T.R) began trading in TA-125 Index.
In September 2024 Rosen and Touchmair led the purchase of Brown Hotels with its 18 hotels (1,847 rooms) via Israel Canada Hotels (a subsidiary company of Israel-Canada), for NIS 100 Million.
At the following month Rosen and Touchmair partnered with Adam Neumann and Assaf Rappaport, which invested $ 27 Million in Canada Global - the international arm of the investment group Israel Canada.
The residents of Barak Rosen residential projects are some of Israel's top models, artists, senior executives and government officials, including: Noa Kirel, Bar Refaeli, Lior Suchard, Eden Ben Zaken, Idan Raichel, Yossi Benayoun, Eran Zahavi, Eyal Waldman, Yossi Cohen, Aviv Geffen and Omer Adam.
Rosen also invest privately in various companies, including City Transformer and Tikun Olam Cannbit Pharmaceuticals
Recognition
In 2020 Rosen joined the Israeli delegation at the first historical Israel-Dubai business conference, that took place in UAE.
In 2022 Rosen was placed on the Forbes Israel 100 rich list, ranking him and Touchmair on the 83rd spot, via their holdings in Israel-Canada.
Personal life
Rosen is married to the architect and artist Vered Rosen, they have 3 children: Ben, Li and Rom, and they live in Herzliya Pituah.
