Bhowal/Bhawal is an Indian family name of the Kayastha and Other Backward Class. The origin of this surname is unclear and various sources indicate various origins. Due to some mysteries regarding the family's history a film was even made on the family. They're found in Assam, North Western to Central Bangladesh and West Bengal.
