Bilal Ahmad Magray SC (Hindi: बिलाल अहमद मागरे, died 20 August 2019) was an Indian special police officer. He was posthumously awarded the Shaurya Chakra, for his actions during counter-terror operation in Baramulla in 2019. Bilal was killed while fighting with terrorist in Jammu and Kashmir.
Counter-terror operation
In Baramulla, Jammu & Kashmir, Bilal Ahmed Magray was employed as a special police officer. After learning that there were terrorists inside a home in Baramulla on August 20, 2019, security personnel jointly established a perimeter and carried out a comprehensive search. The residence also had common people who were trapped. Bilal willingly joined this assignment under such a circumstance. They were being attacked by terrorists who fired randomly and used hand grenades while they were evacuating the common people from that area without regard for their lives.
Shaurya Chakra awardee
The President of India posthumously awarded him the Shaurya Chakra, which was presented to his mother. on November 24, 2021, in recognition of his bravery and sacrifice
