Booba is a 2001 Philippine comedy film co-written, co-edited and directed by Joyce Bernal. The film stars Rufa Mae Quinto in the title role.
Plot
Booba and Gretchen are two sisters with opposite attitudes who are under the care of their grandmother Lola Belle. Booba is sweet and caring but dim-witted while Gretchen is foul-mouthed but smart. Gretchen soon decides to leave after a disagreement with Lola Belle which leads to eventual eviction from their house over a foiled murder attempt at Booba. Lola Belle eventually had a heart attack after her decision to forgive Gretchen. She then requests Booba to find Gretchen and ask for forgiveness and later passes away. Booba decides to go to Manila where she becomes the object of desire for many men who took advantage of her for being dumb. Soon after she finds a job as a dancer in a bar where it was later on raided for showing nudity. While being arrested by a group of policemen led by Poli, she was discovered by Gen. Lee who sees her potential as an undercover detective.
It was during her stint as an undercover detective when she discovered her sister Gretchen has become head of the syndicate engaged in white slavery and drug smuggling. Soon after both sisters faced off, with majority of the syndicate either get arrested or killed but Gretchen escapes arrest. Nevertheless, Gen. Lee still recommends Booba for a presidential award which Gretchen uses the event to finally kill her sister. But the assassination attempt hits Poli instead, and Gretchen is arrested and jailed for her actions. While in the ICU, Booba refuses to come to terms that Poli is going to go away soon since she already fell in love with him. So she resorts to perform fellatio on Poli so that he can come back. Poli awakens and gets a kiss from Booba.

Despite being a straight-out comedy, the movie was rated R-18 by MTRCB for lots of nudity and foul language.
