Danton Figueiredo Melo (born May 27, 1975) is a Brazilian actor and voice actor. In Brazil he voiced actor Leonardo DiCaprio in four feature films, including Titanic and The Beach. He is the brother of fellow actor Selton Mello.
Career
His debut in soap operas took place in 1985, at the age of ten, as little Cuca in A Gata Comeu. In 1988 he played the character Bruno Meireles, son of Leila (Cássia Kis) and Ivan Meirelles (Antônio Fagundes) in the soap opera Vale Tudo; the following year, Peto, son of the antagonist Perpétua (Joana Fomm) lived in the soap opera Tieta. Later, he would act in several attractions on Globo and other broadcasters, but without the same prominence. In 1995 he played Héricles, protagonist of the first season of the youth soap opera Malhação; In the plot, his character was involved in a love triangle with the characters of Juliana Martins and Luigi Baricelli. Afterwards, he transferred to SBT, where he acted in Dona Anja. He returned to Globo in 1997 to play one of the central characters in the miniseries Hilda Furacão. Between 1997 and 1999 he was also the presenter of Globo Ecologia. In 1998 he was in the soap opera Torre de Babel as Adriano, Shirlei's (Karina Barum) romantic partner.
The following year he participated in the last chapters of Terra Nostra. After three years dedicating himself to theater, he returned in 2003 as the protagonist of Jamais Te Esquecerei, on SBT. Back on Globo, in 2004, he co-starred in the second version of the soap opera Cabocla. And he was also one of the protagonists of the year-end special Correndo Atrás. Returning to play the same role in the special shown in 2005. In 2006, he was the protagonist of Sinhá Moça alongside Débora Falabella. In 2009, lived Amithab of Caminho das Indias.

Personal life
Danton is the son of Dalton Natal Melo and Selva Aretusa de Figueiredo Melo, and is the brother of fellow actor Selton Mello. He is a distant descendant of Júlia Maria da Caridade, one of the first colonizers of Minas Gerais and the trunk of some of the most traditional and important Brazilian families. As a teenager, he began dating writer Laura Malin, whom he married in 1993 and separated in 2005. The couple had two daughters: Luísa (2001) and Alice (2003). In 2013, he began dating businesswoman Sheila Ramos, whom he married in 2017.
Accident
On September 14, 1998, while flying over Mount Roraima recording a report for Globo Ecologia, the helicopter he was in suffered a breakdown and crashed. The actor and his team were found 30 hours after the accident by indigenous people from the Raposa Serra do Sol Indigenous Land, who notified FUNAI so that the rescue could be carried out. Danton had severe internal bleeding and was rushed into surgery, at risk to his life, recovering weeks later. His character in Torre de Babel ended up being removed from the soap opera, but with the actor's recovery, in November of that year, the actor returned to recording the soap opera, due to its popularity, in a wheelchair and also with the aid of a crutch.
