East Rutherford adalah sebuah borough di Bergen County, New Jersey. Menurut sensus 2010, populasi borough ini adalah 8.913. Borough ini adalah pinggiran kota lingkar terdalam New York City, terletak 7 mil (11 km) barat Midtown Manhattan.
Sesuai penerapan New Jersey Legislature tanggal 17 April 1889, sebagian Union Township lama digabungkan dengan nama Boiling Springs Township. Township baru ini mengambil namanya dari sebuah mata air di permukiman ini. Pada 28 Maret 1894, borough East Rutherford dibentuk berdasarkan hasil referendum yang diadakan sehari sebelumnya, dan Boiling Springs Towship dibubarkan. Meski tidak ada perubahan perbatasan, nama dan bentuk pemerintahannya berubah.
East Rutherford adalah tempat berdirinya Meadowlands Sports Complex, yang mencakup Izod Center, bekas kandang New Jersey Nets dari National Basketball Association dan New Jersey Devils dari National Hockey League, dan New Meadowlands Stadium, kandang New York Giants dan New York Jets dari National Football League dan Super Bowl XLVIII, juga bekas situs Giants Stadium, yang menjadi kandang Giants, Jets dan New York Red Bulls dari Major League Soccer. East Rutherford adalah satu-satunya munisipalitas di bawah 10.000 jiwa yang menjadi kandang dari 5 tim olahraga profesional sekaligus.
