Elliott Nugent (20 September 1896 – 9 Agustus 1980) adalah seorang aktor, penulis naskah drama, penulis, dan sutradara film Amerika.




Biografi


Nugent lahir di Dover, Ohio, putra aktor J. C. Nugent. Dia kuliah di Ohio State University. Ia berhasil melakukan transisi dari film bisu ke film bersuara. Dia menyutradarai The Cat and the Canary (1939), dibintangi oleh Bob Hope dan Paulette Goddard. Ia juga menyutradarai film Never Say Die (1939) dan My Favorite Brunette (1947).
Nugent adalah kawan dari penulis James Thurber. Mereka menuliskan drama Broadway The Male Animal (1940) yang dibintangi Nugent bersama Gene Tierney. Ia juga menyutradarai The Male Animal, adaptasi film tahun 1942 yang dibintangi oleh Henry Fonda dan Olivia de Havilland.
Nugent adalah saudara ipar aktor Alan Bunce dan Ethel and Albert.
