Es Navidad, released in the United States as Feliz Navidad — Con 14 Éxitos Navideños, is the fifth studio album and second Christmas album by the Puerto Rican boy band Menudo, released in 1980 by the record label Padosa. The group included Ricky Meléndez, Johnny Lozada, Xavier Serbiá, Miguel Cancel, and Charlie Massó.
Regarding its production, as in their previous albums, the chorus of the songs was enhanced by the voices of professional backing singers, including the quintet's vocal coach, Marilyn Pagán.
In 1982, the album was re-released in the United States, under the title Feliz Navidad — Con 14 Éxitos Navideños, featuring a new cover showing the group members dressed as Santa Claus. In 1983, four songs from their previous album, ¡Felicidades!, were added to the tracklist.
This was the last album Xavier Serbiá and Miguel Cancel to be in, since Ray Reyes replaced Xavier in early 1983. During the first week in New York and then few months went by, Miguel decided to voluntarily to quit the group because he felt unhappy since his voice suddenly changed and wasn't able to do his song, and was replaced by Roy Rossello.
Commercial performance
The album was a success in Venezuela and became the first Menudo album to reach 100,000 copies sold in the country. According to an October 1984 note in the American magazine Cashbox, sales had surpassed 143,000 units in Venezuelan territory by that date.
The US version was well received in the U.S., appearing on the Billboard magazine's music chart for Latin albums.
