  • Eurelia is a former railway station and siding on the Peterborough-Quorn railway line in the town of Eurelia, South Australia.

    History

The railway line opened between Peterborough and Orroroo on 23 November 1881, being extended to Quorn on 22 May 1882. The station at Eurelia consisted of a large station building made of stone, a residence and refreshment rooms.
The line past Eurelia was closed on 3 March 1987 and the remaining section from Peterborough to Eurelia was closed to traffic on 22 November 1988. It then became the northern terminus of operations of the Steamtown Peterborough Railway Preservation Society which ran tourist trains from Peterborough to there until 2002.
