Jhanwar is a village and a newly made tehsil in the Jodhpur district of Rajasthan, India.This village was settled by Chaudhary Malji Kalirana around 1200 AD.

The Gotra of most of the Jats in this village is Kalirana (Kaliraman/Kalirawana). Jhanwar is also called the city of justice because Kalirana Jats here were famous for justice. Chaudhary Durgaram Kalirana's justice is very famous. There are some houses of Jats like Jakhar, Thori, Mundan etc. in the village. People of Patel community are also in large numbers in the village.
