      Controversy

Rex was criticized by Vice News, and his ethics questioned for associating and going on 12 missions with Tim Ballard who had been indicted for sexual misconduct and sexual coercion by staff and rescued victims on these OUR group anti-trafficking missions.
In a bid to oust BYU football coach Gary Crowton, Rex distributed "Fire Crowton" T-shirts during games, disrupting game-day activities. After being found in violation of university policy upon investigation, he was evicted from the stadium, as reported by The Daily Universe.
Some polarizing figures he has had on the show are Former OUR CEO Tim Ballard, who was accused of sexual coercion by his staff and traffic victims, and embattled former Entrata CEO, Dave Bateman, whom he had on the show in 2017. Bateman was accused of antisemitism.
