Jorge Ernesto “Corcho” Rodriguez (born April 11, 1962) is an Argentine businessman, commercial pilot, helicopter instructor, and university professor.
Biography
In 2010, he was awarded the Order of the Andean Grenadier of the Andes General San Martin. On September 10, 2024, Brazilian courts annulled evidence linking him to the Odebrecht corruption case.
In August 2023, Rodríguez and Verónica Lozano launched a boutique hospitality business in Italy, transforming a personal project into an entrepreneurial venture.
Personal life
Jorge Rodriguez is married to Verónica Lozano, and together they have three children: Lara, Juan, and Antonia.
Rodríguez’s connections with rock legends began developing in the 2000s, establishing him as a central figure in Argentina’s rock music scene. He shares a close friendship with members of AC/DC, marked by their shared appreciation for classic rock and frequent gatherings at La Roca Power Studio. His collaboration with Slash of Guns N’ Roses led to various projects over the years, where Rodríguez's studio serves as a setting for Slash’s guitar-driven, iconic rock sessions.
In addition to rock musicians, Rodríguez also has a notable friendship with Johnny Depp, who began visiting La Roca Power Studio in the 2010s. Their sessions combine Depp’s musical style with Rodríguez’s network, facilitating a space where artists from diverse backgrounds can freely experiment.
On November 22, 2023, Billy Gibbons, guitarist of ZZ Top, visited La Roca Power Studio and recorded a blues classic alongside Jorge "Corcho" Rodríguez. The collaboration took place at Rodríguez's studio.
In 2024, it was revealed that Rodríguez and Verónica Lozano own a polo ranch in Punta del Este called Yellow Rose Polo Ranch. The estate includes vineyards, horses, and even a helipad.
Social responsibility
In 1996, he founded the Yellow Rose Polo Club in Punta del Este, Uruguay, which has since become a key institution supporting the growth of international polo. In 2021, Yellow Rose expanded its operations to Argentina and allied with the renowned Ellerstina Polo Team, one of the most successful teams in Argentina, having won multiple championships, including the prestigious Argentine Open.
In 2023, Yellow Rose became the main sponsor of Ellerstina for the Triple Crown, Argentina's top polo tournament, consisting of the Hurlingham Open, the Tortugas Open, and the Argentine Open. The team, featuring players such as Nicolás Pieres, Gonzalo Pérez, Bautista Bayugar, and Ignatius Du Plessis, presented their new lineup and official jersey at an event in Buenos Aires. Beyond competitive polo, Yellow Rose is also known for its philanthropic initiatives, organizing charity events that combine high handicap polo with music to raise funds for social causes. The club has hosted some of the world's most renowned polo players, including Polito Pieres, Ignacio Figueras, and Facundo Pieres. In partnership with the Fundación Compromiso and the Municipality of General Rodríguez, Yellow Rose also supports programs aimed at providing free vocational training in digital skills such as digital marketing, e-commerce, and programming for people over 16 years old.
On September 20, 2024, Rodríguez's polo team, Yellow Rose, along with Ellerstina, presented their team to compete in the Triple Crown of Polo.
