  • Kashmora (transl. A Powerful Black Magic) is a 1986 Indian Telugu-language horror film, written and directed by N. B. Chakravarthy. It is based on the novel Tulasi Dalam by Yandamuri Veerendranath. The film stars Rajendra Prasad, Dr. Rajasekhar, Bhanupriya, Sarath Babu. The music was composed by Chakravarthy. The film was a box office hit.


    Plot


    The film begins with three friends, Sridhar, Jaya Dev & Abraka Dhabara, eliminating a sorcerer, Khadra, in a remote village, Bista, to secure Sridhar's sister, Tulasi, from Kashmora powerful black magic. Vishachi, their chieftain, creates a redoubtable sorcerer, Darkha, to seek vengeance. Darkha pledges to slay them, and the sole origin to detect them is Thulasi, within a year since Kashmora woke up. After crossing many hurdles, Darkha lands in the city, where a priest civilizes him, and sensing his dark shade, he takes an oath to eschew harm of safes. Parallelly, the three families are cordial till today. Dr. Rambabu, Jayadev's son, Shadow, Abraka Dabra's sibling, & Tulasi are also besties. Once, Tulasi dares to break the hellish hue of a phony saint, Siddheshwari. Simultaneously, Siddheshwari discerns Darkha is a wizard who clutches him to employ his unique abilities to be formidable, which he denies. So, she declares to sacrifice him to the goddess when Thulasi & Shadow intervene, shield him, and unveil Siddheshwari's true colors, but she absconds.
    Meanwhile, Darkha discerns Thulasi, leans whereabouts of the 3, and steps to reprisal. Siddheshwari also vows to destroy Thulasi, Darkha, & Shadow and ruses by hypnotizing Rambabu, who slowly poisons Thulasi. Here, Darkha takes a shot at Sridhar, but tragically, his kid Archana dies following the shift in Darkha. Next, he hits Abraka Dabra and aims to knock out his wife, Saku, via black magic. Fortuitously, she is his mentor priest's daughter, who reverses it and becomes flat. At this, the leniency awakens in Darkha, and he swears that he will not be prejudicial to anyone. However, Siddheshwari reseizes him but skips and reaches Shadow. Now, they know about Rambabu and can revert him via Jayadev. The one year accomplishes, and Kashmora attacks when Darkha struggles to bar it. Thus far, Sridhar captures Siddheshwari, who opens the evil spirit of Darkha. On his back, Sridhar spots Darkha drawing a Sri Chakram to protect Thulasi, but Sridhar misinterprets and drives him away. Eventually, Vishachi arrives from Bista and calls Tulasi to the burial ground. Here, Darkha encounters combat with him to guard Thulasi. At last, Darkha hinders Kashmora by offering his soul, bursting Vishachi when Sridhar shoots him. Finally, the movie ends with Darkha leaving his breath, proclaiming, Being recall that a wizard also has a good soul.
