Kingmaker Music is an American independent music company co-founded by William Moseley, and operates as a subsidiary of Kingmaker Companies. The company offers support to artists, including assistance with music production, distribution, sync licensing, and career management.
History
Kingmaker Music started producing singles with members of the Kottonmouth Kings while the band was taking a hiatus from music. In late 2016, Kingmaker Music released a serious of collaboration songs with Dloc featuring artists including Tech N9ne, Twiztid, Juicy J, Cypress Hill, Trizz, and members of Kottonmouth Kings.
In 2018, it was announced that the Kottonmouth Kings had signed to Kingmaker Music with the original bands lineup that included Dloc, Johnny Richter, and Saint Dog.
On January 31, 2018, the Kottonmouth Kings announced via social media that new music was set to be released that upcoming March. On March 1, 2018, a music video was released by Dloc and Johnny Richter under the name Kingspade. The song was titled "Who We". In the video it was announced that the Kottonmouth Kings would be releasing a new full-length album titled Kingdom Come on April 20 of that year.
On April 20, 2018, Kingmaker Music released "Kingdom Come" by The Kottonmouth Kings. The album featured Sendog of Cypress Hill, Twiztid, and Dizzy Wright. The album was produced by Corelone, Steve Dang, and William Moseley.
In 2019, Kingmaker released its first Kingmaker Cannabis compilation album entitled "The Harvest" The album was announced alongside a Kottonmouth Kings tour by the same name. The tour featured many of the artists on the compilation album. The main artists on the album and tour were Crazytown, Ceekay Jones, Judge D, and included singles from all the members of the Kottonmouth Kings.
On October 4, 2023, it was announced through Taste of Country that Kingmaker Music would be releasing a new Joe Exotic album that was partially recorded from prison. Exotic is the star of the Netflix series "The Tiger King" and also a 2024 presidential candidate. The main song on the album was entitled "My Best Friends" and was also used by Exotic as his presidential campaign song. Kingmaker also announced it would be taking over the management of Exotic's music catalog. The album was delayed prior to release by Kingmaker due undisclosed reasons.
In Late 2023 through 2024, Kingmaker Music released a serious of albums of different genres that were reimagined as other genres of music.
In early 2024, Kingmaker announced it would be opening a new reggae division. The first ever Grammy winning reggae artist Mykal Rose announced via social media he would be joining Kingmaker Music. Later that day Kingmaker announced releases planned with The Wailers, Big Mountain, Anslom and Mykal Rose.
