Left Democratic Alliance (Bengali: বাম গণতান্ত্রিক জোট) is an alliance of six political parties flagging the left-wing political ideology of Bangladesh. Out of these six parties, two parties - CPB and SPB (Basad) are registered by Bangladesh Election Commission. The remaining four parties are not registered.
Formation
On July 18, 2018, the formation of this alliance was announced in a press conference at the temporary office of the alliance in Paltan. At the time of its formation, the coalition consisted of eight parties. Subsequently, on 24 May 2022, the membership of the Ganosamhati Andolan and Revolutionary Workers Party was suspended.
Democratic Left Front was formed around 2013. In continuation of that front, this alliance was newly formed in 2018.
