Lin May Saeed (1973-2023) was a German-Iraqi sculptor and activist. She is known for her work that dealt with humans relationship with animals.
Saeed was born in Würzburg, Germany. Her father was Iraqi. She was a longtime vegan. She studied at Düsseldorf Art Academy, graduating in 2001. It was in Düsseldorf that Saeed first became active against animal cruelty. She worked in Berlin, where she shared her studio with two rabbits.
Saeed exhibited at the Berlin Biennale, Museum Frieder Burda, Amsterdam Sculpture Biennale, the Ljubljana Biennial of Graphic Arts, Castello di Rivoli, Aspen Art Museum and the Clark Art Institute. She was represented by Chris Sharp and Galerie Jacky Strenz.
Saeed died of brain cancer.
