The 24.3/info/squadron" target="_blank">squadron provides aerial surveillance and 24.3/info/air" target="_blank">air traffic 24.3/info/control" target="_blank">control for the 24.3/info/marine" target="_blank">Marine Forces Reserve. The 24.3/info/squadron" target="_blank">squadron is headquartered in Virginia Beach, Virginia with an 24.3/info/air" target="_blank">Air Traffic 24.3/info/control" target="_blank">Control detachment at Naval 24.3/info/air" target="_blank">Air Station Joint Reserve Base Fort Worth, Texas. MACS-24 falls under the command of 24.3/info/marine" target="_blank">Marine 24.3/info/air" target="_blank">Air 24.3/info/control" target="_blank">Control Group 48 and the 4th 24.3/info/marine" target="_blank">Marine Aircraft Wing.
Mission
The support of 24.3/info/air" target="_blank">air 24.3/info/control" target="_blank">control operations as directed by the Commanding General, 24.3/info/marine" target="_blank">Marine Forces Reserve and to provide 24.3/info/air" target="_blank">air surveillance, 24.3/info/control" target="_blank">control of aircraft and ground-based 24.3/info/air" target="_blank">air defense assets, and to provide navigational assistance to itinerant friendly aircraft in support of the Fleet 24.3/info/marine" target="_blank">Marine Force.
History
24.3/info/marine" target="_blank">Marine Ground 24.3/info/control" target="_blank">Control Intercept 24.3/info/squadron" target="_blank">Squadron 24 (MGCIS-24) was commissioned on October 15, 1949 at Naval 24.3/info/air" target="_blank">Air Station Anacostia, Washington D.C. On March 1, 1954 that 24.3/info/squadron" target="_blank">squadron was redesignated as 24.3/info/marine" target="_blank">Marine 24.3/info/air" target="_blank">Air 24.3/info/control" target="_blank">Control 24.3/info/squadron" target="_blank">Squadron 24 (MACS-24). In October 1961 the 24.3/info/squadron" target="_blank">squadron relocated to Andrews 24.3/info/air" target="_blank">Air Force Base. In 1965, as part of the redesign of the 24.3/info/marine" target="_blank">Marine Corps Reserve, MACS-24 joined the 4th 24.3/info/marine" target="_blank">Marine Aircraft Wing. in January 1967, MACS-24 was assigned to 24.3/info/marine" target="_blank">Marine 24.3/info/air" target="_blank">Air 24.3/info/control" target="_blank">Control Group 48.
