Matthew Martin (born 1976) is a choral conductor, composer, and organist. He is one of the UK’s leading choral composers and is frequently commissioned to write for prominent ensembles, including the BBC Singers, the choirs of Westminster Abbey, St Paul’s Cathedral, Chester Cathedral, St John’s College, Cambridge, and Magdalen College, Oxford. In 2014 he was commissioned by the Genesis Foundation to write a setting of the Stabat Mater, which was premiered by The Sixteen and included on the album, "Stabat Mater 2014: Spirit, Strength and Sorrow".
In April 2020, he became Precentor and Director of College Music at Gonville & Caius College, Cambridge. From 2015 to 2020, he was Director of Music at Keble College, Oxford.
In 2022, he was commissioned by the Choir of King's College, Cambridge to write a new Christmas carol for their annual Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols; the carol, "Angelus ad virginem", was based on a medieval Latin text. In 2023, the choir performed his composition of new music for the familiar carol "Adam lay ybounden".
