Natasha Verma (born June 2, 1994, in New York City, New York) is an Emmy Award-winning news anchor, journalist, film director, and cancer survivor.
Education
Natasha Verma holds a master's degree in journalism from Columbia University, where she graduated with honors at the age of 18. She is also the youngest-ever graduate of the University of Texas at Austin, having earned two undergraduate degrees—one in Broadcast Journalism and another in Biology Pre-Med—at the age of 17.
Career
She has worked for several notable news organizations. At KUSA 9NEWS in Denver, CO, Verma served as the weekday morning anchor from August 2019 to August 2022, Prior to that, she worked at NBC10 Boston as a reporter and anchor from June 2016 to June 2019. From June 2014 to June 2016, Verma was at WBBH NBC2/ABC7 in Fort Myers, FL, Earlier in her career, she reported for News 12 Bronx in New York City from April 2012 to May 2014. She has been serving as a weekday evening anchor on FOX 5 New York as of year 2023.
Natasha Verma has also directed a feature film Hardy in 2013-2014. Hardy tells the inspiring true story of Heather Hardy, a female boxer from Brooklyn, NY, Hardy premiered at Austin Film Festival and won Verma "best first-time director" honors at the Irvine International Film Festival in California.
Nonprofit work
In 2017, Natasha Verma was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s lymphoma. This personal experience inspired her to establish the Verma Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the quality of life for cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy. The foundation focuses on providing custom cap wigs at no cost to women and children experiencing hair loss due to cancer treatment.
