Rahul Mamkootathil is an Indian politician from Kerala and is the winner from Palakkad constituency in the by-elections held to the Kerala legislative Assembly in November 2024 won by a margin of 18,840 votes. He is a member of the Indian National Congress




Early life and education


Mamkootathil was born on 12 November 1989 in Adoor, Pathanamthitta, to S. Rajendra Kurup, a former Indian Army officer, and Beena. He has an elder sister, Rajani.
Mamkootathil did his schooling at Thapovan Public School in Adoor and at St. John's School in Pandalam. He then completed his graduation from Catholicate College Pathanamthitta and post-graduation from St. Stephen's College, Delhi. He is currently pursuing a Ph.D. at Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam.
