Robiul Alam Robi (Bengali: রবিউল আলম রবি) is a Bangladeshi filmmaker and scriptwriter. He gained recognition as the director of the web series Unoloukik released in 2021. His film Suraiya based on the story of writer Shibabrata Barman under the same name, was selected for the 2023 Busan International Film Festival Asian Project Market (APM). He is also the screenwriter of the critically acclaimed series Myself Allen Swapan, Boli released on the OTT platform Chorki and Hoichoi. His other films include Cafe Desire, Forget Me Not (2024) and the 2020 Academy Award country submission omnibus film Sincerely Yours, Dhaka.
Early life and career beginnings
Robi's interest in filmmaking began during his university days. He created several short films while studying at Dhaka University and directed two episodes in the Prajanmo Talkies anthology series. After completing his MA in Film Studies from Jadavpur University, he became actively involved in film production Throughout his career, Robi has written & directed a diverse range of films and series. His notable works include the series Unoloukik, Boli and the film Suraiya, which have earned him international recognition as a director. Fazle Hasan Shishir is the producer of the film.

Awards and recognition
Robi's film Suraiya was selected as the only Bangladeshi project for the Produire au Sud section of the Three Continents Festival in Dharamshala International Film Festival and the Asian Project Market at the Busan International Film Festival in 2023. For this project, he received the Bangladeshi National Film Grant for the fiscal year 2023-24. Suraiya has also been chosen for the Tasveer Film Festival and Market in Seattle, USA. His series Unoloukik which he directed, won the Channel i Digital Media Award in 2022. Additionally, Robi received nominations for Best Film and Best Director at the 24th Merrill-First Light Awards for his film Cafe Desire.
