  • Salem Church is an active Methodist church in Cheslyn Hay in the South Staffordshire District of Staffordshire, England. It is located at the junction of Landywood Lane and High Street. It is a locally listed building.


    History


    A church was built in 1819 and in 1851, it could seat up to 250 worshippers at a time. In 1855, it was rebuilt on the same site and enlarged further in 1898. In 1940, the chapel could seat up to 450 worshippers at a time. In 1924, a library annex was built directly next to the chapel. It is home to around 2,000 volumes of books.


    Present day


    The church serves as a place for both worship and community gatherings. In January 2024, a table tennis community began using the annex for hosting events and community gatherings.
