Tanya Moore is an activist advocating for women in mathematics and science. She co-authored The Anti-Racist Social Worker with Glory Simango.
Education
Moore obtained a B.S. in Mathematics from Spelman College, an MSE in Mathematical Sciences from Johns Hopkins University, and a Ph.D. in Biostatistics from UC Berkeley in 2002.
Career
Moore founded the Infinite Possibilities Conference in 2005. She worked on the 2020 Vision Projects at Berkeley. She is also a member of the board of directors for Building Diversity in STEM. In 2011, Moore was identified as one of the 5 top Black women in STEM, and in 2018 was nominated for Black History Month by The Network of Minorities in Mathematical Sciences. Moore was featured in Essence Magazine's 15 Black Women Who Are Paving The Way In STEM And Breaking Barriers and The Oprah Magazine's 3 science rock stars. She was also recognized as “STEM Woman of the Year” by California State Assembly Member Nancy Skinner.
Moore founded Intersecting Lines, an initiative aimed at supporting girls and women in mathematics.
Personal life
Moore is married and has two children.
